Re: Congressional School Mystery Arlington Siren

Fellas, it's a 2802. I pass by this siren several times a week. There's even video evidence further backing this up.

Will say this definitely takes the cake for the longest active "system" in the NoVA area.

Re: Virginia Siren Map

Yes it's been so for about two years now. I didn't figure out the original cell-count until about a month ago.

Re: Virginia Siren Map

Thanks. As an add-on it appears Surry siren #32 was either moved 900' South of it's current position or just outright removed. It's very hard to tell with the new icky imagery. Considering how the system is no-longer to be used, I'm surprised that sirens that are on property are still standing... I ...

Re: Virginia Siren Map

Thanks. As an addition to the new sirens, the Congressional School in Falls Church, VA does have a siren - a Whelen WPS-2802 as confirmed via drone footage of the school. Quite illusive since the start of the map!

Re: How far away have you heard a siren?

I've heard a 2806 as far as 4.5 miles away. Unfortunate that Dominion decommissioned the North Anna sirens.

Re: Spokane, WA Civil Defense system

Alright, thanks for the info. Also, do you think any SD-10s or Model Xs are just like sitting in a lot and weren't sold? Well you would have to ask the city on that. I did find one SD-10 that managed to survive up until 2008 - but at this point I'm fairly sure it's been scrapped or sold... I couldn...

Re: Spokane, WA Civil Defense system

Spokane, WA had a fairly diverse system of just Federal sirens as far as my knowledge currently serves. The system in Spokane was comprised of Model Bs, Model 2s, 1 Model 3, SD-10s, 3 Thunderbolts, and 3 Chryslers - 1 which was replaced by an SD-10 later down the line. Something I would also like to...
