Is even sounding of small sirens not allowed unless you sign up?
You don't need to sign up to set off small sirens. It's a free for all.

Re: ASC Compulert

Today, I was fortunate enough to acquire a Compulert controller from a unit that needed a controller replacement. While the Compulert board was removed from this enclosure, everything else came with it. Eventually, I will get the right parts to make it work. Are you the person who replaced it? I ju...

Re: Post the most epic sirens picture(s) you have!

Here are some nice photos of an American Signal T-121 in Slinger, WI. If anyone is wondering, this siren is active, tests every Saturday at noon, activates every November 11th at 11AM as well as every SWA at 1:45 PM (it will participate in this year's SWA on Thursday) and goes off for tornado warnin...

The final activation of Kewaskum, WI's Federal Electric Type B

Today, I got to hear something quite epic- the very last activation of the Type B siren in Kewaskum, WI. A little bit of history before I dive into the main part of this topic, their Type B was bought in 1926 and from then until the 1980s it was used as a fire siren. It was then replaced by a Thunde...

(BTS video) ASC OM-120 siren test, Hartford, WI

Today, I decided to record the ASC OM-120 again because all of my old and long gone videos of it are not the best in terms of video quality and the only video I have of it is when SWS growled it after repairs. Anyways, right before it activated, I heard St. Lawrence's Model 2 from nearly 4 miles awa...

Re: How far away have you heard a siren?

Just today I heard a Model 2 from nearly 4 miles away! I was in Hartford recording their OM-120 when just before it went off I heard the 2 in St. Lawrence (each of these cities are in Wisconsin btw)

Re: Low mounted Sirens in US

Here is a very low mounted ACA Screamer in Radisson, WI. It was recently moved from an old water to this short pole.
