Re: Lightning detection systems

I live in Pittsburgh, PA where these are mostly in golf courses/country clubs just like what you described other than they're aren't in many public locations (that I know of in my area). So mainly they're used for just private outdoor sports areas and pools and aren't spread throughout a township li...

Golf Course Lightning Sirens

Hi all, most golf courses or recreational places tend to use the ThorGuard Lightning Prediction System to alert people of oncoming lighting. However, my country club golf course has a siren system that I personally like, but I cannot find any details on it other than on one eBay post. Possibly it is...

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

Here’s a siren I’m unsure of near my house. Haven’t seen or heard this siren go off. It’s located in the back right of the fire dept. if your facing the front. It’s white and looks kinda like a H.O.R. Super Sirex without the 2 cones on it. Anyone got any ideas? https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ceci...

Re: “Twin” Siren Setups

There is a video on Youtube (Link at the bottom) by amtrak3501 (sirenfan1000) which features a FS 508 and a EOWS 612 both doing an attack/wail signal. The 508 beats the 612 for sure since one, it's louder in the video and two, that the 508 produces 128 dB and the 612 produces only 124 dB. Like amtra...

Re: Unknown use for siren in Pittsburgh

Thanks for the info jgardner48! Makes sense to me since that school was made back from the I believe the 1960s-70s and went through some renovations, but is still the original school. It stinks cause the 2/3T22s are one of my favorites on the list, and seeing it in go off in person and also the conv...

Unknown use for siren in Pittsburgh

Hi, I came across The Siren Board a few days ago and decided to create an account cause I have an interest in sirens. I have a siren atop of an elementary school in Pittsburgh but I’ve never heard it nor heard anything about it’s purpose. It’s either a FS 2T22 or 3T22 since I can’t see if it’s got s...
