Kodiak, AK Alertronic Ambiance

At 10:12 PM local time last night, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake occurred off the southern coast of Alaska. A tsunami warning was issued for much of the coastline, including Kodiak. This prompted the activation of the siren system. Many of Kodiak's Alertronics seem to be active, but I don't believe it ...

Some South Dakota Discoveries

I was doing some Google Earth siren hunting and I made a couple of interesting discoveries. Whelen WS-2000-20/2020 at Winner, SD: 43°22'30.02"N, 99°51'15.26"W What looks to be an ATI or ASC E-Class on the satellite imagery at Mission, SD (there is no Street View in the area). Replaced an X...

Re: Non-360 Quadrens?

It does look like a Quadren from the satellite view. Figures, it's buried in the plant and can't be seen in Street View.

This could very well be the third known Quadren to exist in the wild. Hopefully you are able to track down the other one at Kingsport.

Re: Non-360 Quadrens?

I haven't heard of any Quadrens at Kingsport. There are two yellow P-50s mounted on top of buildings in Kingsport, as well as a WPS-2806 near the Eastman Employee Recreation Area, but no Quadrens, unless they just so happen to be "buried" somewhere in the plant and can't clearly see them o...

Re: Non-360 Quadrens?

No. So far, none have been documented. Only the regular ones in Mount Prospect exist.

Re: B&N Mobil Directo and ACA Allertor past and present map

San Angelo, Texas, had an active system with multiple Allertors, but the city has since deactivated them and chose a new "Integrated Public Alert Warning System". As was said earlier this month, they are in the process of being removed by the city. Here were the locations of the Allertors:...

Banshee Manual

Welp, I stumbled upon something that has been requested before: an ACA Banshee manual available to the public. I found it embedded in another NRC document that talks about the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station's prompt notification system in 1984. The manual starts at page 176 of the document. https://...

Re: Iowa siren map?

Here's an Iowa Map that I've been working on for a while! https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1tfDIf7L29-K-rK4aItFG5T-1jyKPI3iD&ll=41.977279423329456%2C-93.3630301&z=8 An update for Iowa City's AL-6000s: almost all of them are gone. Almost all of them have been replaced by T-128s as of...

Re: Old Sirens at the VC Summer Nuclear Plant

I don't know. I have only possibly scratched the surface. Who knows? Maybe one day we'll find out that one of the nuclear plants had Alertronic 5000s or something because they appear to be adding older documents frequently. Honestly, I wouldn't go as far as 5000s, but there is still not much known a...
