Re: Illinois Sirens

Hello! I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of sirens in these Illinois systems. I'm looking for locations or number of sirens. [*]Bethalto, IL - I was told they have a total of 9 active sirens between them and Meadowbrook, IL. I've got 8, is anyone more familiar with their system? [*]Nauvoo...

Re: STL-10 Siren Help

The manual says it's a 7.5hp single phase repulsion induction 240v AC motor. Maybe take it to a motor shop and see if they could point you in the right direction?

Madison, IL Model J

Hi all. I came across a photo of a Model J on The Siren Archive. The location was listed at 16th and Madison in Madison, IL. I tried looking for it and I can't locate it. Does anyone here know where this thing is let alone the building it's on?

Re: St. Clair County Illinois Sirens

Thanks! I had the Taco Bell siren marked. I was looking in the wrong spot for the other Vortex. I was checking in the middle of town and it didn't even occur to check elsewhere.

Re: St. Clair County Illinois Sirens

I found a Sentry at the Mitchell, IL fire department, It replaced a red Model 7 in the past few years. Is that perhaps it? The Troy Bolt is inactive sadly. I've been searching Caseyville and haven't found anything yet.

Re: St. Clair County Illinois Sirens

I've found what seems to be a Sentry 3V8-H or 7V8 in Smithton. 38°22'13.46"N 90° 0'47.80"W I've also found an STH-10 in the southern portion of Collinsville. 38°38'53.41"N 90° 0'9.09"W Looks to be a 7V8. I didn't see a battery box. I read mentions that Collinsville has 18 sirens...

Re: St. Clair County Illinois Sirens

Those East St Louis 2001s haven't changed position in years and it's likely that they may never function again. Doomed to rot like the SD10s. Unfortunately, East St Louis has absolutely no money except for the bare essentials. Many of their traffic signals no longer function. Sad situation there. I...
