Re: What is the worst siren you have heard?

Great question! Just to be clear, let’s not make this a worst sirens thread. But I get what you’re trying to ask. Aside from just hearing the rotator from a T-128 and no chopper, I’d say I’ve experienced three less than subpar sounding tests. First would have to be when Grand Prairie, TX had just in...

Re: What is your favorite port combination on a siren?

Anything that makes a major or minor chord (8/12 is my favorite!) It'd be super cool, (yet I'd question the effectiveness) if you could make a jazzy chord with an electronic siren (Bbmajor7 would be super cool, since all you'd have to do is add a 440hz (A4) tone to B flat (465hz) and F (700hz). Basi...

Re: Any Rare Siren finds to know about In Missouri Oklahoma Or North Texas?

I will be traveling from Missouri down to Texas going through Oklahoma so I was wondering if their are any rare finds to stop and see along the way. Has for Texas I will be only in the north part around the Dallas Ft.Worth Area. As SirenFan said, most of the gems around DF/W are long gone. Take a l...

Rockwall P-50 and P-10 To Be Retired This Month

After a failure of Rockwall’s Penetrator 50 style siren, we decided to call Rockwall to see what was up. Turns out, the Penetrators had been disconnected, and are slated to be replaced later this month (July 2019). It sure is sad to see these brutes go, but it must be done in order to better warn th...

Re: Gainesville TX Future Siren System? Mmmm.... no

Major bump, but after emailing the fire chief, the city decided to bring the system back online! That includes the T-135 and I'm guessing the Thunderbolt?! The city still tests on the first Monday at 1:30

Re: Plano WPS-4008 Removal Spree

From what I understand the main reason why they are replacing them is because they don't want rotating sirens in general. There's a slight problem with this though. The WPS-4008 is a siren capable of delivering a 2 mile range. Its output is roughly the same as an ASC T-135 AC/DC. The 2810 and 2910 ...

Re: Plano WPS-4008 Removal Spree

They are auctioning them off to whoever desires a 4008 siren. So it’s quite possible some municipalities would want one. If that's the case they'll be parted out for the drivers/rotators and thrown out unless another company in the area willing to refurbish them and sell them back. Since the replac...

Re: Plano WPS-4008 Removal Spree

2910s. They directly stuck the 2910s on the used pole of the 4008s. Some are leaning pretty bad lol

Plano WPS-4008 Removal Spree

Alrighty then, three years have past with no update on the 4008 replacements. I assumed the 4008s were safe and sound. Nope! They’re gone! Here is a brief picture montage I have of the removal of #15 off of Denham Way adjacent to Robinson Middle School and Carpenter Park.
