Thanks! I'm not sure exactly what year it's from, but I'm guessing it's from the 40s or 50s. It runs great, and has a very long wind-down! Again, I'm posting a video soon.

Got my first siren!

Well, I finally did it :D. I got a Federal Electric Model 66 from my mom's friend who had it in storage and gave it to me for free. It's 8 ports, runs off of 6 volts DC, so I can hook it up to a lantern battery or car battery and it runs beautifully. I have some pictures right now, and I will defini...

Re: Biersach & Niedermeyer Mobil Directo.

All gasoline Mobil Directos were withdrawn around 1960 except for the few allowed to rot away on their mounting posts. The videos on Youtube show the electric sirens, either original or converted from gasoline. The only known gasoline Mobil Directo in private ownership belongs to hemijoe and it cam...

Re: What's left of the Tucson, AZ Siren Graveyard

Please go back and remove that thunderbolt smiley and type out the word. The rules state that you aren't supposed to do that and most people get pissed off when they see that happen. Sorry if I sound a little rude. As for your post... That's quite interesting. I didn't think there was much left. Oh...

What's left of the Tucson, AZ Siren Graveyard

Some of you who live in the southwest may know of Tucson's siren graveyard, which contained all the old Civil Defense sirens Tucson used during the Cold War. There are several videos of it on YouTube, the earliest dating back to 2009. Back in 2009, the graveyard consisted of Thunderbolt 1000's, and ...

Re: This is just wrong.

I do have one of these mini sirens. Great starter siren but by no mean an air raid siren. Set mine off for for probably over a accumulating time of 20 mins. But the most within one day at one time was probably 30-45 seconds as I M using a 9V smoke detector battery and it drains pretty fast. Not too...

Re: This is just wrong.

Yea I bought it on eBay this summer un-restored and then restored it myself just simple re-wiring, stripping, painting and other stuff. I don't know the exact year of it but it is old enough to be "Federal Enterprises" (Before "Federal Sign & Signal"). The nice thing about h...

Re: This is just wrong.

I am a bit puzzled with these as well, and I find them quite annoying when just looking around eBay like when I bought my Model A. If you want a suggestion on searching for sirens that will give you a good search result, use keywords like "Federal Siren" or "Federal Signal Siren"...
