Re: West Shore Services

I am not sure what all they have still laying around, as it's been (omg 7) years since I was there to buy my Thunderbolt. I have seen them list numerous old sirens on eBay, and I believe they had an ad in the "For Sale" section of this website. At any rate, as long as you present yourself...

Re: West Shore Services

When are you going? I hope to go to WSS this summer, and maybe if our dates line up, we could meet up! A word to the wise: 1. WSS is open Monday-Friday, not on weekends, and 2. careful with what siren you want, for if it is one that is either A, single phase B, a smaller unit or C, in a better cond...

Re: Davey, NE Thunderbolt 1000T

Made the trip up to Davey today to retry recording the Thunderbolt there. Last time I had the chance (one year ago), it was cold and drizzly out and they didn't test. The weather this morning was the complete opposite: not a cloud in the sky and temperatures in the low 60s. g1N4HtfJaFQ Now that's s...

West Shore Services

So I will be going to Michigan in June, and as many of you know, West Shore Services and their massive siren graveyard is in Allendale :D . I am hoping to be able to acquire one of their old sirens, and I know for a fact you have to call them and ask for a specific siren and get straight to the poin...

Re: The Sentry 3V8-H-B

This is what I love about Sentry. Their sirens are built to last, are virtually maintenance-free, and produce HUGE sound outputs for their size. And, their new models never fail to impress. :)

Is this another 8-port siren like the regular 3V8?

Re: Got my first siren!

You won't get enough current from a 9 volt battery, which were designed for old transistor radios which used less current than flashlights. There are still some 6 volt motorcycle batteries that would power it. Yeah, I was guessing that... I mean, I ran it on a 6V lantern battery and it ran. The bat...

Re: Biersach & Niedermeyer Mobil Directo.

Some of Culver City's sirens are still in place, unless they were removed within the last year. HemiJoe's siren is not in operating condition. First job is getting the cosmetics done. Ah, I see. I hope he gets to restore it soon, because if he does, he'll be the owner of the only operational gas-po...

bobcat418 wrote:That is one good looking siren with very little wear! A word of caution, I would not run this on car batteries, since this is a 6 volt siren and a car battery is 12 volts. I hope you have fun with your new siren :)
Yeah, I know. I'll run this on a lantern battery or 9V smoke detector battery. :)
