If you zoom in, you can see one of the rotors! Not sure when this pic was taken, but it's on Wikipedia's Hiroshima Prefectural Office page.

Re: Yamaha Music Sirens

I'm actually not sure about the Kobayashi music siren, as I forget when the date was taken, and it seems to be on a flimsy mount for a few thousand pounds of weight. I looked closer and it seems to be mounted on the bare roof of the building. Maybe that "mount" surrounds the music siren l...

Re: Yamaha Music Sirens

I found a video of Uwajima's speaker array playing "Tonbe". Although muffled, you can hear the "idle sound" of the music siren when none of the notes are open.

An aerial pic of Kobayashi Department Store's music siren has also been found!

Re: Yamaha Music Sirens

I've found what could possibly be Imabari City Hall's music siren, in the background of an old pic of the city hall. Here's the website where I found the image.

No better images have been found yet. I'll attempt to contact the Imabari City Hall for more information.

What is up with this STH-10? It also seems to shudder on wind-down.

Re: Yamaha Music Sirens

Along with the article mentioned above, another person bought discs of the music siren atop Marumitsu: The『懐かしのせんだいCM大百科』(Nostalgic CM Encyclopedia) CD album seems to have been released on November 23, 2007. I'm so glad that that Twitter user still held on to their copy of the disc after so long! T...

Re: What is the worst siren you have heard?

Heidlersburg, PA's 2T22B... the brushes were so bad on it that it sounded like it was running on 50HZ. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJCQHYwUIdA&t=206s Here's my video. Maybe the brush angle was retarded a little during the refurb? In the videos of it doing Alert it held pitch fine. Back on t...

Re: Yamaha Music Sirens

From recent videos, it appears that the Iga siren has failed to play the last note of Banjo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KsgRb2qmDE The music drum needs to be looked at. The A4 note also seems to be "bouncing" more after each shutter close. I had an idea... using historical satellite...
