Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

Got a strange little mushroom here, right up next to a Whelen Hornet.

The Google Earth Siren Hunt - 4k edition

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I last posted an update on the siren map. Almost two years! In that amount of time I've accomplished nothing more than getting an education, but that's not what's important here, I have finally cataloged over 4,000 sirens! (Actually 4,005) and I have returned ...

Ah, that would explain the similarities. And also why I couldn't identify it right off. An artifact from ACA to ASC's transitional period, how novel.

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

Small town in Wisconsin brings another unknown, or really maybe a question from me: https://www.google.com/maps/@43.7349383,-88.7825392,3a,15y,19.34h,102.68t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sX55ImFdtIc-xFh-J9Z3RJQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 I'm thinking that this is probably a Banshee, but there's just something about i...

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

Gentlemen, Have another for you, I'm back working on the siren map again. Today my travels have brought me to Sublette, Kansas. https://www.google.com/maps/@37.4783983,-100.8528568,3a,60y,257.27h,107t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1skLqnXsH85ZlKSbpGaG9K9g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 I feel this might be a Darley model, ...

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

My data sheets suggest the single head Type B was 2 horsepower however I didn't think they used the 2 horsepower motor for the dual head version. The sirens in Ririe, Idaho and Cecil Township, Pennsylvania would have been made between 1922 and 1926. Here is a chart showing some different Type B pro...

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

Alright, anyone got a link to a thread with more information on them? I can't say I even have a Denver siren on the map before this.

Also are there specific Models for Denver sirens, or are they all the same?

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

Could it be both? The rotor of a denver mounted to the motor of an Allertor?

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

It looks to me like they took the horn off an Allertor, and put an oil barrel in its place. The back motor cover looks very similar to that of an Allertor 125. This will make a fine addition to my "hackjob" list in that case. I can't help but think, fundamentally, the sound output of this...
