Re: Jefferson County MO future system

Alertus has been doing a lot of sales on the education side of things, so it would be interesting to see if they were to win this and a countywide system of HPSAs go up. HQE/SiRcom has been doing more on the military side especially since WAVES went defunct a couple of years ago. They've been picki...

Re: Jefferson County MO future system

Thank you again. I'm surprised FS turned in a bid for 2001-130s when the bid called for sirens capable of tone and voice.

Re: Jefferson County MO future system

Alertus offers Hörmann-style arrays. Their sirens are based off of SiRcom products and use to come with SiRcom controllers with European tones. These days they make their own controllers. There are a couple systems of the installed recently, such as Torrance, CA, and Galena Park, TX. There are a co...

Jefferson County MO future system

After perusing the internet Saturday morning looking for bid information on St Louis City's new system I stumbled across bid info for a countywide system for Jefferson County MO. Jeffco as it's affectionately known, is the county immediately south of St Louis county and is where I reside. There is c...

Re: Mountain Home, AR siren system

Mountain home's system is from 1998 and was installed alongside the rest of the Baxter County system. To my understanding Mountain Home tests with Baxter County but its maintained by city. Most of the rural vortexes in the County are really struggling cause they haven't been maintained in years. Mo...

Re: Milwaukee siren system being redone.

Every single siren in the current system with the possible exception of the hurricane will be replaced. Even the newer 128s. Now that this upgrade is presumably underway, do we have any idea about what is going in? The internet seems silent and I can't locate any government documentation about an u...

Re: Milwaukee siren system being redone.

Their is nothing on the web regarding any real changes to Milwaukee County's siren system. It seems they mostly replace older units as they become unrepairable. ASC handles the maintenance on existing units and installation of new ones. Please clarify your post or add a link to a news story so peopl...

New siren system for St Louis City

On June 30th a new budget was signed for the city of St Louis. It included 3.9 million dollars for new outdoor warning sirens. Currently St Louis City fields a system of 60 Whelen 2800 sirens that were installed in 1999. Those replaced a very old and decrepit system of STL10s installed in the 1950s....

Re: Rolling Fork MS gets new warning system

The only siren I was aware that RF had was the 2001. It's possible that the Thunderbeam was part of something unrelated.
