No. In fact, I believe that they both use the exact same motor (which changed over the years), which is not 5HP or 7HP, but somewhere around 10HP. yes there is one way. you look at the motor's tag and if it says 5 HP its a Model 5 if it says 7 HP its a Model 7

Can't. The rotor is cracked, and the motor is most likely toast.
