Re: A potential new siren from ASC

I think ASC will do a driver removal method kind of similar to Whelen's method. They will have a little area that is connected to the driver and is removable, but instead of one location, it can be one on all 4 sides of the cell. I don't think it would be on the bad part of legal grounds, but I don...

Re: A potential new siren from ASC

I was just browsing Facebook today when I happened to find this; it looks to be a design similar to that of a Whelen or an ASC Quadren: https://www.facebook.com/AmericanSignalCorporation/posts/905978576150064 Also, a comment by ASC confirms that NEW mechanical sirens are going to be released I the ...

Re: Are there any more Thunderbolts in Franklin County Ohio?

As some already know, I got the last standing one from the west side of Columbus, but I remember reading somewhere about one still standing downtown near the arena district or something. I don't know... :/

It's probably been said before, but this topic needs to be made a sticky on this forum.

Re: What is the closest siren junkyard to Columbus Ohio?

Ok so I want to go to a siren junkyard so that I can look at sirens up close and maybe spin the chopper of some of them. But is there one close to Columbus Ohio? I think I might have heard there is one in Circleville, but is this true? I know there is WSS, but that is a good five hour drive from ho...

Re: Toledo OH PNC bank building Super Sirex

With that Toledo PNC siren being mounted so high on that skyscraper, I wonder how long it's sound range is from up there.

Re: I got a jailbar Thunderbolt!

I'm really interested in seeing the Whelen panel it was connected with. Whelen RTUs are far and few between. The box is gutted. The only thing in there are wires connected to a small transformer. The box has the Whelen logo on it, but no controls inside. When the siren was disconnected they simply ...
