Re: How do you transport large sirens?

I took mine all apart, and actually fit two complete T-Bolts in our Chevy 3500 long bed. They're a little over 1200 lbs each, so it was a heavy load, but no problem...

Re: Bad fire at fire station; Thunderbolt not involved!

Thank you for clarifying... And that's interesting about the W. Covina T-Bolt being removed, but hopefully safe 😜. I don't have a need for it, but I bet somebody here will be very happy if it comes up for sale. Did your friend say if they have plans for it?

Re: Bad fire at fire station; Thunderbolt not involved!

More bad news but good news: I'm old and my memory is going bad, I guess, and need new glasses! I had remembered it being right butted up to the back of the building when I went down to see it in 2008 or 09, but you guys got me! So the good news is that still should absolutely be undamaged by the fi...

Bad fire at fire station; Thunderbolt not involved!

Several years ago, there was a thread here by Soundoff, who had gone out and verified several Thunderbolts in the old Orange County, CA system. One was on O.C. Fire Station 61 in Buena Park (across the street from Knotts Berry Farm), and it was on a pole directly behind the building. I also went dow...

Re: Central California coast siren question

I don't know about those counties, but San Luis Obispo County has 2001s for the nuclear power plant. Not sure if they're also for tsunami warning, but I would hope so at least for the coastal areas of SLO County.

Re: So. California fall siren tests

This is a HUGE thread bump; 9 years or more... This is not a typical post to an old thread, and Thank You to the Admins for letting me do it in good standing. It was 9 years ago today, that I went down to Huntington Beach to hear the second-to-last test of the Thunderbolt at Warner Park. Another ARS...

Re: New Staff (Please read!)

So, I think it's safe to assume that you probably recognize some of the new names and groups but I feel like I should explain it a bit better. Now let's bring on the names! murrfarms - https://airraidsirens.com/forums/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=1203 Lurks, clicks, bans. While doing more ...

Re: Two Chrysler Air Raid Sirens for Sale - WW2 and Cold War

HEY! No posting ebay links! I shall break out the ban hammer! =P We'll let this slide to to the rarity of the siren and its making for good conversation! However this does not mean this will become the norm which some members would love for it to be. Its a neat find just and it'd be one heck of a c...

Re: Two Chrysler Air Raid Sirens for Sale - WW2 and Cold War

Didn't know Dan was selling his sirens. I don't know much about the Victory since he got later but I wonder if he used the SD-10 rotor as they already had one at the museum he worked at. The cold war era Chrysler air raid siren, if I remember correctly, Dan mentioned getting from a guy in Montclair...
