This is ridiculous! I found this today and I couldn't believe an area that is obviously tornado prone, is getting rid of their siren system. For those of you who don't know where Pelham, AL is, it is located south of Birmingham, AL in Shelby County.
I saw this video which appears to be from back in December 21st when we had a Tornado Warning in Davidson County that night. The siren in this video does not sound like a normal Eclipse. It almost sounds like its not getting enough juice. See what you think... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kP6ZZ8eD...
I found 2 more of the new Nashville sirens this morning. Paragon Mills Park has an Eclipse, while a 508 is located at Antioch High School. I had suspected the AHS siren would be a 508 as the previous ATI was a HPSS 32. Had hoped to get a photo of it. However, the horn was pointed so that the sun wa...
I took a friend to the NWS Storm Spotter class yesterday in W. Nashville and the had a lady from the OEM speak before the class and she said the siren installations are now complete. I asked her if in the future if Davidson County is ever going to consider the activating the sirens in the polygon or...
Great sound! It sure leaves the ATIs in the dust. I heard the Eclipse at West End Middle School during the test. It did 6 complete cycles of "attack" before shutting off. The Eclipse certainly sounds better than the ATI former at this school, and I'm sure that "attack" signal wi...
Here is my video of the 508 down the street from me. This was super loud and made my heart jump into my throat! Sorry for the shakiness of the video, I was sitting in the grass being ate alive by bugs!
