Re: Model 5 housing.

I'm pretty sure Federal offered stainless steel housings for the coastal states; they do well in the salt-water environment. That would explain why your 5's housing is stainless. Sentry offered all of their sirens in stainless steel, and they might still do so.

Re: Siratrol Radio Help

There are two different activation sequences you can try. Try 3 secs of the common tone and then 2 secs of the signal tone. Or 1 sec Common tone and 3 sec signal tone. I have an info sheet stating that, and it helped me figure why I couldn't set off one of my other siratrols. Also, anenna length and...

Re: Siratrol Radio Help

Wow. That looks kinda rough. Your best bet is to bring it to a radio shop to have them look it over. Is that the one that was on eBay a while ago?

Re: Sebeka, MN Mystery siren.

I don't think this is a 95. It looks like it's just a regular old Model 5 that someone decided to customize a little. The chopper looks too big, and there's too many ports. There's even a video of a 95 in Wisconsin. You can see the differences in that video.

Re: AF timer and the fire signal cam

Your best bet is to somehow make one yourself. Custom AF Timer cams aren't really for sale anywhere.

Re: Model D Question

Your best option is a Variac, but, Iv'e used a regular lighting dimmer on my Model D. Just don't leave it on anything lower than 120 for very long.

The tag is the County's way of numbering the sirens.

Re: Did the Chrysler air raid siren rotate?

Yes, the whole thing is on a big turn-table. They creeped along at a slow 1 RPM, but how fast can you move that much weight anyway?! There aren't really any videos of one, because they were't really something of big interest. Most don't rotate as of now because they are either stuck or broken.

Re: Rare purchase

Could be 30's to 50's. My 2000's chopper assembly has cloth-wrapped wires.
